The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics – SHB20116, is the perfect qualification for those who are wanting to enter the makeup and beauty industry as well as build a career within the dynamic beauty retail environment.

You will learn a range of skills such as applying makeup, recommending and selling the right makeup products, how to engage with your customers and clients through social media, and setting up an eye catching product display area.



To fulfil the requirements of this qualification and ensure you are able to develop the skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetic products to an industry standard, students are expected to complete approximately 20 hours of practical industry experience within a workplace that provides services to clients and customers. This is available to students at the Media Makeup Store and Salon and is included in the course timeframe.

Mode of Delivery

Our programs are delivered face to face at the Media Makeup Academy. This program has a strong focus on practical applilcation, where students will learn within a simulated workplace environment. Throughout the program, students will work with our highly skilled trainers to observe demonstrations, practice their skills and revieve one on one feedback, discuss assignments, gather hints and tips for working in the industry as well as reviewing the latest trends.

Participants are required to purchase kits and materials prior to the first day of class.

Students to supply their own camera, stationery,  two hand towels and a lap top.
