Requirements

Applicants must be 16 years of age and demonstrate sketching skills.

*Includes lab materials used to make head moulds and prosthetic pieces.

Participants are required to purchase kits and materials prior to the first day of class. Students to supply their own laptop with Photoshop, camera, stationery, colour wheel, 2 hand towels and make up cape.

Summary

The course program is delivered by industry specialists who work closely with individuals who wish to train as a Media and Special Effects Make up Artist/Technician to provide, co-ordinate, manage and supervise services for the Photographic, Film, Fashion, Television, Theatre and Entertainment Industry.

A large component of the curriculum concentrates on the participant's ability to design, create, communicate and work with fellow artists incorporating special effects, head moulding, sculpting and the application of prosthetic pieces for character design whilst maintaining continuity.

During the course program the participants are encouraged to work with industry specialists on feature films, media events and photographic shoots.

The individual will develop a digital and hard copy industry portfolio from a series of in house and external professional photo shoots including fashion, runway, body art and prosthetic character design.

The maximum number of students per course is 20. Positions cannot be held unless the required deposit is paid.

During the course programme you are required to be available for work experience which may include weekend and/or evening work.
