THE ACADEMY
2005 Maxed-up
The Academy's popularity has been growing continually alongside the successes of past and present students, so much so, Media Makeup is now booked to the max, with all spaces for the rest of this year's courses completely full.
This includes part time courses beginning 12th July. Congratulations to all those accepted.
2006 Intake
For those interested in enrolling in our next round, we're currently interviewing and accepting students for the 2006 intake.
If you're applying, we recommend you read our Policies and Procedures manual. It's a downloadable document on our website www.mediamakeup.com.au.
Call us on 8223 3233 to arrange an interview. Bring your resume along and, if you've already read and printed off the Policies and Procedures manual, bring that too because, if you're accepted, then you have the opportunity to pay a 20% deposit and secure a place on the spot.
Prospective students also need to fill out our Registration of Interest Form, available online.

MMA&A NEWS
Foot in the Door
For the first time ever, Media Makeup students were invited to complete their work experience with leading makeup brands in department stores, demonstrating the potential for obtaining work with industry leaders in future.
At the Laura Mercier and Clarins counters, students gained invaluable experience and insight into the retail cosmetics industry as well as into customer service.
During their placements, students learnt and put in practice, skills in makeup service for clients.
Experienced consultants demonstrated how to provide customer service, to merchandise, perform sales, how to operate retail equipment and how to perform makeups in the retail environment. Students were then given the opportunity to themselves perform makeups for clients.
The placements were part of Certificate II in Makeup services.
Giveaway
As the sole stockist of Makeup Forever in South Australia, we are now offering all clients a free gift with any purchase of the Makeup Forever line.
Come into our retail store and receive two purse size glosses free with any Makeup Forever purchase while stocks last.
One-on-one sessions
For expert insight into how to do your own makeup, our in-house retail manager and makeup artist, Catlin Wells conducts personal one-on-one makeup sessions.
Popular with all ages and also executives, tailored to individual taste and lifestyle, Catlin shows clients how to complete a makeup that compliments individual skin and hair colour.
To help assure her clients learn the best application techniques, Catlin usually does one side of the face, leaving you to do the other under her supervision.
Areas of focus include:
- Choosing a foundation to suit skin undertone
- Applying eye makeup to suit eye shape
- Choosing a makeup to suit lifestyle
- Day-looks
- Evening-looks
Sessions are designed to work around you and have a practical focus as well as creative. Clients are encouraged to bring some of their own makeup from home and can then be shown how to put it to best use. To broaden your personal collection however, Media Makeup Academy & Agency also has an extensive range of Makeup Forever and Proof Cosmetics products available for purchase.
For an investment of $120, clients receive a two-hour, one-on-one session and a facial map of the makeup to take away with them.
To book, contact Catlin on 8223 3233.
Eyebrow Specialist
We now have an in-house eyebrow specialist, Sharon Morgan.
Eyebrows are often the most neglected area of the face in terms of makeup.
Eyebrows help to add expression, contrast and dimension to the face.
For $30, an eyebrow session includes tweezing, waxing, tinting, shaping and instruction for overall maintenance.
To book, contact Sharon on 8223 3233.
Hair salon
When next in store, ask Paula about our exciting new product range, "Colour Glow" from KMS.
