MMA&A NEWS: MARCH 07
NEW AND IMPROVED PREMISES!
During the break we've been very busy making lots of improvements. The whole place has been refreshed for the year ahead with a shiny new paint job, our new trainers' room has two computers, a printer, a photocopier, lots of desk and cupboard space, and has all new carpets and modern fittings. The presentation room has new fixtures for photographic backdrops for shoots and catwalk presentations, plus many other little improvements around the site for students to take advantage of.
WIRELESS INTERNET
Students are encouraged to bring their laptops into training as we have installed highspeed wireless internet. Now you can research online as you work by accessing Media Makeup broadband.
NEW MOBILE THEATRE SYSTEM

Watch everything projected on the big screen! Every DVD, every presentation (photographic, PowerPoint etc) will be larger than life. And all our rooms are now equipped with blinds to make viewing perfect in any situation.
WELCOME
Welcome to Jo Clayton, our new full-time office assistant. She's taking care of student enquiries, administration and wedding and work experience bookings. Jo is a qualified makeup and SFX technician, so we’ll be utilising her skills in the classroom as a trainer too.
Welcome to Marie Puccini as part-time trainer in the classroom. Marie is a past student and a wedding makeup artist. Part-time trainer, Sue-Ellen Taormina, is now building many more sketching classes into our part-time courses, following great success of the component last year. Sue-Ellen's training enabled students to take their design skills further than thought possible, with students demonstrating exceedingly high levels of professionalism in their work, both on paper and in application. Her students have been amazed at the abilities developed over a short space of time.

OPPORTUNITY IN SFX MAKEUP
Media Makeup is once again offering Advanced Diploma students the chance to participate in two-week workshops at Image Creative Partnership in Sydney and to up-skill their techniques in prosthetics makeup for film. Workshops involve intensive training in prosthetic application and colouring techniques and help students increase speed. By the end of training, students will also be skills-tested by the company for possible future employment.
A number of students who had the opportunity to participate in last year's Image Creative Partnership workshops will be working on the feature film Antigravity, by Ian James Colmer, scheduled to start production around June or July this year.
For the latest details, check out our online workshop brochure.
STUDENTS IN THE FIELD
Congratulations to many of our students who worked as makeup assistants on the feature film Hey Hey it's Esther Blueburger, starring newcomer Danielle Catanzariti, Toni Collette and Keisha Castle-Hughes.
Well done to all who worked in the Bling Bling room doing make-overs for the public to raise funds for charity at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide V8 Supercars race, on photo shoots and fashion parades and at the Adelaide Film Festival.
Good luck with all the fringe festival shows and events that many of you are working on – it's a very busy season!
COURSE INTAKE
Our March intake is now completely full as well as our July part-time intake.
Media Makeup is now inviting applications for the June full-time intake up to Certificate III level.
